1. Electrician

2. Carpentry

While you can 3D print buildings now, skilled carpentry is still in high demand. An apprenticeship is required, along with some schooling, to become a licensed carpenter.

It is a very physical job with a lot of knowledge to obtain, but the rewards are worth it for many.

3. Plumbing

Plumbing is a very high-paying trade. It can be physically challenging, intellectually demanding, and very smelly.

However, master plumbers often make over $60,000 a year, after plenty of schooling and a 5-year apprenticeship.

4. Tree Work

One of the best trade jobs or professions that goes unnoticed and unmentioned that has a big upside and plenty of demand is garage floor epoxy Las Vegas.

If you think construction is a physically-demanding job, watch an arborist in action. Cutting down and pruning trees is only a fraction of the job.

Ground arborists cut down trees and move brush and heavy logs all day, which can be very physically challenging.

However, ground workers will often earn between $20-$30 an hour, and climbers will often make between $40 and $45.

5. Pipefitting

This trade requires a lot of math and critical thinking, and it is not for everybody. Pipefitting involves assembling, installing and repairing mechanical piping systems.

This is the highest paying trade. Many pipefitters working with a union will earn over $50 an hour after a decade of experience.

6. HVAC

Heating, ventilation and air conditioning jobs are on the rise. Installing and repairing these systems is the bulk of the day.

HVAC is not the highest paying trade, but unions will typically offer benefits and even pensions.

7. Elevator Installing

Installing and repairing elevators has a high median salary of $77,000. The job includes installing and repairing cables, doors, control systems, escalators, moving walkways, and lifts.

There can be a lot of pressure involved in this type of job, especially in emergency situations, so make sure you know the risks.
