If you’re going to be one of the many visitors to Animal Kingdom, you’re going to be fighting some large crowds and standing in long lines to see every attraction.
That’s why it’s important to prioritize and figure out what attractions you want to visit. Read on for some of the best ones!
Kilimanjaro Safari
After staying at Animal Kingdom DVC, you can head to the park and ride Kilimanjaro Safari.
This safari takes you on a safari ride that really plunges you into the African safari. You’ll be able to see all kinds of animals and follow a storyline that the safari guide will lead you on.
You’ll ride in a jeep that can be a little bit bumpy, but it can be exciting and make you feel like you’re on a real safari. The drivers will give you all kinds of information on the animals that you’ll see, and they’ll give you a heads up of when to take pictures.
Festival of the Lion King
Instead of going on a ride, you can take a little bit of a break and head to watch the Festival of the Lion King.
You’ll see a great performance of talented singers and acrobats that are in colorful costumes and tribal attire. You’ll also see all kinds of Lion King characters act out this theatre performance.
Even if you’ve already seen it, there’s always so much going on that you’ll be able to notice something new. Make sure you get there early to get a good seat!
Avatar Flight of Passage
The Avatar Flight of Passage is one of the newer rides at Walt Disney World, and it has great new modern designs and technologies to make this ride unique.
Because it’s one of the newer rides, you’ll have to make sure that you either ride this as soon as the park opens or try to reserve a FastPass. If you don’t get a FastPass, you may find yourself waiting for hours to ride it.
Although, this simulated ride is definitely worth the wait.
Kali River Rapids
The Kali River Rapids will be perfect to help you cool down, especially during the hot Florida summers.
This is a family raft ride, and you’ll enjoy all kinds of scenery on this ride. You’ll go through the Kali rainforest first, and your raft will go over some calm water.
After that, however, you’ll start going faster and go over some rough waters, as if you were white water rafting. This ride will drop and turn, causing waves that will crash on top of you and soak you.
However, there is a waterproof area in the middle of the raft where you can put your backpacks and electronics to ensure that they don’t get wet.
Na’vi River Journey
Another Avatar ride that is new isn’t as exciting as the Avatar Flight of Passage, you can enjoy this calming water ride.
This may not be an adrenaline rush, but this slow boat ride will take you through a bioluminescent environment. You’ll be able to see all kinds of bioluminescent plants and some animatronics that Imagineers have created.
Dinosaur
To journey back a bit to the past and view some animals that used to run the kingdom, head over to Dinosaur.
This might be one of the most intense rides, and you’ll travel back in time to see dinosaurs and rescue one particular species.
You’ll board your range rover, and the scientist will send you back in time. However, they accidentally send you back in time about five minutes before the meteor comes and wipes out with all the dinosaurs.
As you can imagine, it’s a very bumpy and rough road. You’ll end up taking a lot of sharp turns, go over a lot of bumps, and encounter all kinds of other dinosaurs.
This ride may not be best for smaller children, because it can be very dark, loud, and scary at some times. There are also flashing lights in some cases, so you may want to skip that if that’s triggering for you.
Expedition Everest
One of the best rollercoasters in all of Disney World is Expedition Everest. You’ll go through the mountain and see the real-life Yeti.
Once you see that he’s ripped up all the tracks to your coaster in the mountain, you’ll realize that there’s nowhere to go except backward.
You can find this rollercoaster in the Asia section of the park, and you’ll have to be in good health to ride it as it is an intense ride.
Pandora
Instead of riding a ride or going to a show, just enjoy strolling around the land of Pandora. You can lose yourself in this Avatar world and enjoy all the fake plans that look like they belong on a different planet.
This place is even better to visit at night, where you can explore all kinds of restaurants and see how this land lights up.
