Americans await coronavirus stimulus check from the federal government. But the citizens might be surprised to know that President Biden is to offer $4 billion to Central America for development.
Andrés Manuel López, the President of Mexico, stated that Joe Biden promised that the US would send funding. The aids would be used to develop El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala. These countries faced hardships and led to migrations from Mexico towards the US.

Several Americans have not received $600 worth of stimulus checks, approved under the $900 billion relief package. The package passed was during December 2020 and some Americans did receive the checks, but the rollout is ongoing.
The President has been pushing another relief package that includes $1,400 checks for people. However, the bipartisan group of senators was unwilling to agree. They feel that the $1.9 trillion relief package for coronavirus raises too much money for high-income Americans.
Joe Biden has a huge plan that includes $20 billion to speed up vaccine distribution. It estimates a $15 per hour minimum wage increase and an extension of the supplemental unemployment perks till the end of September. It will be the $1,400 stimulus check with a temporary increase in the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit. Moreover, there will be new funding worth $350 for local and state governments.
The President promises that the building of the border wall won’t continue under his administration. However, the critics state that this will make immigration easier for illegal migrants to cross borders.
In January 2021, a caravan filled with thousands of migrants had a clash with Guatemala’s authorities. They were trekking towards US borders. Former President Trump had threatened to cut all aids to Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras for not stopping migrant caravans during 2019. This came after he pledged to aid billions to them in 2018. After a few months from the incident, Trump had announced to restore the aid as the countries came into an agreement.
