Wherever you may go, dust is your enemy. It may seem like a simple irritant, such as when your eye gets an irritating dust speck. But in reality, it is more dangerous than you think. An iota of it can attract many kinds of dangerous allergens such as dust mites, germs, and bacteria. And with the recent coronavirus scare spreading across the globe, it can be a magnet to the virus. Unfortunately, not all people are aware of its dangers. So having the best air purifier for dust in your home or office is essential for the safety and wellbeing of the occupants.

Alas, dust is not the only irritant in your space. Dangerous fumes and gases from heaters, stoves, and fireplaces also pose a health hazard. Using the best air purifier for dust and other pollutants increase your chances of breathing in healthier, cleaned air. But before buying, ask yourself the following questions.

What do you need?

There are many air purifiers in the market today, and not all of them are equally created. Some focus more on dust elimination, but some are made for odour removal. Decide on what pollutant you want to remove the most, and work your way from there. Size, colour, the weight of the machine, and filter use can also be considerations. You can then narrow your choices to one or two brands.

What is your budget?

A couple of purifiers can remove most of the allergens in your house. But a single machine cannot service your whole place. Most of the purifiers can do the work for a single room or area. Whole-house purifiers may cost you thousands of dollars because only professional installers can connect it to your electricity network. Be sure to work within your budget.

Does it have HEPA filters?

HEPA filters remove more than ninety-five percent of air pollutants, such as pollen, spores, dust mites, and mould. The downside is that it cannot completely remove house odours and tobacco smoke. Nevertheless, if those are not your primary concerns, it may comfort you to know that it can get rid of almost all allergens lurking in the atmosphere of your house or building.

Also, air purifiers without HEPA filters produce less than stellar results. These work just like a vacuum cleaner would. Airborne particles such as minuscule dust particles can just be blown away and settle on other fixtures, which return to the air at a later time. Make sure to choose the one with the best filtering system to get more buck for your money.

Can it purify the air in the whole room?

There are a lot of kinds of home or office air purifiers. But the ones that clean the air quality of the whole home takes a lot of time, money, and effort. Whole house purifying equipment will need a professional contractor for efficient installation. If you do not have the budget for that yet, you may opt to get one for each of your living and working areas. Most of these machines purify air based on the measurement of the room.

Is it energy efficient?

Most of the purifiers uphold their commitment to environmental protection. This equipment also goes through a series of energy tests to ensure that they meet the energy-efficiency required to market them. Ensure that the one you will get adheres to safety standards.

Opening the windows and doors is a good measure if you want your air to circulate. But if you are also concerned about pests and outdoor pollutants, consider getting an air purifier for your living quarters.
