Micro Imaging Lens

Imaging lenses are imaging components in imaging systems that focus the image of an investigated object onto a camera sensor. Micro imaging lens systems may be used to correct parallax or perspective error or give adjustable magnification, the field of view, or focal length, depending on the lens. Imaging lenses allow an object to be viewed in several ways to elucidate specific features or characteristics that may be desirable in some applications.

What does an imaging lens do?

The micro imaging lenses are responsible for focusing light from the viewfinder into a tiny (usually) 35mm space on the back of the film, DSLR, or mirrorless camera. When an individual removes the lens from your camera, the only image one can make is one of white light.

Types of Imaging Lenses Systems And Its Features

Telecentric Lenses

Telecentric lenses are used in imaging systems to make objects appear the same size regardless of where they are in space. Telecentric lenses eliminate the perspective or parallax mistake that causes objects closer to the lens to appear larger than objects farther from the lens, improving image quality compared to conventional lenses.

What do Telecentric Lenses do?

Since image magnification is independent of object distance or position in the field of view, such lenses are used in machine vision systems. The image space of the lens is telecentric due to an exit pupil at infinity. These lenses are used with image sensors that do not withstand an extensive range of incidence angles.

M12 Lenses

M12 Lenses are board lenses that focus images into camera sensors. They are also known as S-Mount Lenses or Micro-Video Lenses. They have a wide range of applications, including automotive, forensics, pharmaceutical, and food inspection. These S-Mount Lenses are small image lenses that can be used with various small-format industrial cameras.

What do M12 lenses do?

M12 lenses are frequently found in robotic vision systems, surveillance cameras, and video conferencing cameras. The lenses range in size from 1 mm to 30 mm EFL and from 10° to 230°. M12 lenses come in various shapes and sizes, including fisheye, wide-angle, no-distortion, and telephoto.

Zoom Lenses

Zoom lenses are popular because of their versatility and simplicity in containing a range of focal lengths in a single easy-to-carry lens, instead of carrying numerous prime lenses for each focal length one want to shoot.

What do Zoom lenses do?

Zoom lenses are used to provide variable image magnification for various imaging applications such as microscopy and inspection. Zoom lenses are image lenses that are intended to be used in imaging systems.

Relay Lenses

Relay Lenses are used in various imaging systems such as microscopy, inspection, and life sciences to expand imaging systems or invert images. Relay Lenses are imaging systems that use arrays or imaging lenses positioned behind eyepieces to extend the length of imaging systems such as microscopes, endoscopes, or in situations when proximity to a view object is not possible.

What do Relay Lenses do?

Relay lenses are lenses or lens systems that, with or without magnification, transport an actual image from one point to another inside an optical system.

Conclusion

Hope everyone has understood the different types of micro imaging lens systems and its features that one can use according to their need.
